What a day! The Bradlee Shopping Center Fall & Safety Festival on September 13th was a smashing success, bringing together families from all over Alexandria for a day filled with sunshine, laughter, and incredible community spirit. From the moment we opened, the energy was electric, proving once again why this is one of the most beloved community events of the year. If you were there, you know what we’re talking about. Festival Highlights: Fun at Every Turn
The festival was packed with activities that kept guests entertained all day long. The weather was perfect—sunny with temperatures in the low 90s—creating the ideal backdrop for a day of celebration. With an estimated 450 attendees and over 1,000 onsite impressions, the center was buzzing with excitement.
Carnival Games, Live Music, and Creative Fun
From the moment guests checked in, the fun began. The registration table was a hub of activity, where families received goodie bags and spun a prize wheel for a chance to win even more treats. The Fresh Market generously donated water and cookies, which were a welcome refreshment for everyone.
The atmosphere was vibrant, thanks to our live DJ spinning family-friendly tunes that had everyone from toddlers to grandparents tapping their feet. We even had a roaming scarecrow mascot who kicked off a viral line dance! The fun didn't stop there:
Carnival Games: Guests tried their luck at Flipping Frog and Ring Toss, with every player walking away a winner and some lucky participants taking home deluxe backpacks.
Creative Stations: The "Creation Station" was a haven for artistic expression, where kids and adults alike designed their own wooden pumpkin magnets and fall-themed beadable pens.
Artists & Decor: Two talented face painters and two balloon artists created dazzling designs and intricate creations that brought smiles to countless faces. The festive fall-themed balloon columns and a 30ft arch made for the perfect photo backdrop.
Inflatables & Bubbles: Laughter echoed from the four deluxe inflatable games, while a magical bubble zone filled the air with shimmering bubbles of all sizes.
Alexandria's Community Heroes & Student Stars
A major highlight was the "Touch-A-Truck" experience, featuring the Alexandria City Fire Department, Police Department K-9 Unit, and Animal Control. Kids were thrilled to get an up-close look at the vehicles and meet local heroes, including the famous McGruff the Crime Dog.
The main stage shone a spotlight on the incredible talent from Alexandria High School. From 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the crowd was captivated by:
Powerful monologues from the drama and theater students.
A vibrant performance by the Estados Unidos dance team.
Beautiful melodies from the school's orchestra.
The strong support from the families of these performers undoubtedly boosted attendance and added to the wonderful community feel of the day.
