On Saturday, October 25, West End Village transforms into a family-friendly wonderland where little monsters can safely trick-or-treat, create spooky crafts, and dance to the Monster Mash. This free community event brings together families, local merchants, and neighbors for an afternoon of authentic Halloween fun that goes beyond candy collecting.


Produced by VVS Events & Marketing in partnership with Rappaport and West End Village merchants, this annual celebration has become Alexandria's go-to destination for safe, walkable Halloween festivities. The best part? Everything is designed for easy participation. No advance tickets, no complicated registration—just show up ready for treats, crafts, and memories that'll last long after the jack-o'-lanterns are packed away.

What to Expect at West End Village Trick or Treat


Premium Candy Crawl & BOO-tique Experience

Your adventure begins at our BOO-tique check-in station near Guest Services. Every family receives complimentary trick-or-treat totes with a sweet head start—our team adds premium candy so your bag begins with a festive flourish. From there, follow Halloween signage throughout the center as participating merchants welcome costumed visitors with treats and smiles.


But here's where it gets even better: after your candy crawl, kids can return to "shop" our Jibbitz BOO-tique. They'll choose four Halloween-themed charms to fill a silicone bracelet—part souvenir, part self-expression. The excitement when someone finds the perfect pumpkin, bat, or sneaker charm? That's pure Halloween joy right there.


Creative Stations & Fall Photo Ops

Young artists will love our Creation Station, where they can paint wooden ghost and pumpkin magnets to take home. We've also got 100 spooky activity coloring sheets for those who prefer crayons over paintbrushes. Nearby, our Fall Photo Op features hay bales, pumpkins, corn stalks, and friendly scarecrows—your family's autumn album cover is waiting to happen.


Live Entertainment & Dance Party

A live DJ keeps energy high with family-friendly favorites and hosts the famous Monster Mash Freeze Dance. Candy necklace prizes await our silliest statues and grooviest ghouls!


Professional balloon artists craft wearable creations while glitter tattoo artists add just the right amount of sparkle. From balloon swords to shimmery spiderwebs, every detail is designed to delight.
