What does a truly great community event look like? It looks like hundreds of families showing up ready to play. It sounds like kids screaming down a 40-foot obstacle course. It feels like foam, laughter, face paint, and a whole lot of love—all in one afternoon.
That's exactly what went down at PlayPalooza Potomac Festival, and we're still riding the high.
Brought to you by Rappaport and produced by the VVS Events & Marketing team, PlayPalooza returned to the parking lot of Potomac Festival for another unforgettable, free, family-friendly festival. From bounce houses to a Children's Business Fair, the energy never stopped—and neither did the smiles.
Here's a look back at everything that made this event one for the books.
What Went Down at PlayPalooza Potomac Festival
From the moment the gates opened at noon, it was clear this wasn't just another outdoor event. Every activation zone was designed to delight - whether guests were five years old or fifty.
Inflatables, Foam & All the Fun 🎪
The inflatable lineup was nothing short of epic. Families tackled the 40-foot Obstacle Course, launched off the Dual Slide Bounce House, and splashed into the Foam Party Pit—a fan favorite that had kids (and a few brave parents) completely soaked and loving every second. Younger guests had their own dedicated Toddler Zone, complete with a Bubble Pop Bouncer, mini bounce play area, ball pit, and ride-on ponies surrounded by seating for caregivers.

Rock Climbing Wall & Gaming Truck 🎮
For the thrill-seekers and tech lovers, the Rock Climbing Wall and Galaxy Gaming Truck were must-visit stops. Both offered Fast Pass access, and the lines proved just how popular these activations were throughout the event.
Face Painters, Mascots & Photo Ops 📸
Four talented artists from Youthful Diversions transformed little faces into works of art, while the one and only Spider-Man made a guest appearance from 1 PM to 3 PM for meet-and-greet photos. The PlayPalooza backdrop became a high-traffic photo destination—expect your feeds to be full of frame-worthy moments.

DIY Tie-Dye T-Shirt Station 👕
The first 100 children on-site received a free branded t-shirt to tie-dye at the station—a creative, hands-on activation made possible in partnership with The Learning Experience Woodbridge. The color explosion was real, and every shirt left as a one-of-a-kind keepsake
Carnival Games & Prizes 🎯
Two classic carnival games—Ring Toss and Flipping Frog—kept the competitive energy alive, with prizes going to every participant, win or lose. Stress balls, stretch toys, bubble wands, and punch balloons rounded out the prize bins. Nobody left empty-handed.

Children's Business Fair 💼
One of the most inspiring moments of the day was watching young entrepreneurs shine at the Children's Business Fair. Fourteen young vendors—from jewelry makers to sweet treat creators—presented their businesses, received certificates of participation, and connected with the community. Standout booths included 4everJewelry, Citrus Bros & Co., Sugar Bloom Sweets, Fun Fluff, DMV's Finest Water Ice, and more.
These kids didn't just show up—they showed out.
Touch-A-Truck Experience 🚔
A confirmed Prince William County Police Squad Car gave guests an up-close look at community service vehicles—an educational and exciting moment for curious kids everywhere.

Vendors, Food Trucks & Community Partners 🍔
Guests fueled up and shopped local thanks to an incredible lineup of vendors and food trucks:
Food & Treats: Dream Cream, Spice Nation The Food Truck, Sugar Bloom Sweets
Vendors: Blended Bakery, Fairy Dust and Afro Puff Trinkets, The McKinley Series, Yarnline, Chi La Massage
Tenant Merchants: Castro's Bakery, Swimkids Swim School, Children's Art Classes Woodbridge, Lifetime Dental Care, America's Best Tae Kwon Do Center
Community Partners: AARP, Power Home Remodeling, The Learning Experience Woodbridge, Long Home
Every booth added energy, variety, and community depth to the festival floor.
Book Drive Benefiting Butterfly Books 📚
PlayPalooza also gave back. The event hosted a book drive benefiting Butterfly Books, collecting gently used books and hosting storytime for the youngest guests in attendance. Because the best events don't just entertain—they impact.
Why Events Like This Matter
PlayPalooza at Potomac Festival isn't just a fun afternoon—it's a strategic community investment. Events like this drive measurable foot traffic to the property, deepen tenant relationships, strengthen community trust, and create lasting brand associations for Rappaport and Potomac Festival alike.
When families have a great time at a property, they remember it. They come back. They tell their friends. That's the ROI you can't always put a number on - but you absolutely feel it.
