AMPED in the Park Turns Up the Volume on Community and Live Music
Thursday evenings come alive at Color Burst Park with AMPED in the Park, a summer concert series celebrating music, art, and community in partnership with the Merriweather Arts & Culture Center. Presented by Howard Hughes and produced by VVS Events + Marketing, this recurring evening event pairs live performances with hands-on activities, food and drink, and a genuinely festive atmosphere.
What to Expect on the Turf
Held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on select Thursdays from June through August, AMPED in the Park features:
Live musical performances, curated in partnership with the Merriweather Arts & Culture Center
Rotating hands-on crafts, including DIY beadable wine stoppers, painted vinyl record coasters, and beadable keychains, appealing to adults and kids alike
Two rotating body artists, alternating between face painting and glitter tattoos
An outdoor bar experience, with GameOn and Medium Rare offering drinks and bites right on the turf
Lawn games like Jenga and cornhole, plus band merchandise sales
The Details Behind a Great Night Out
Producing a recurring outdoor concert series takes more than booking a band. VVS coordinates with the Merriweather Arts & Culture Center on lineups and greenroom logistics, manages vendor setups for two separate outdoor bars, arranges alcohol service permissions and wristbanding, and ensures heavy power needs are met for staging and sound. Add in a rotating craft station and body artists, and it's a multi-zone activation running smoothly for two hours straight, every single date.
