There’s something special about seeing a community come together, especially when it involves a little bit of magic. Last November 22, 2025, Fairfax Corner didn’t just host an event; we transported families straight to the Emerald City. The air was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated the highly anticipated Wicked: For Good movie premiere right on the Plaza.
But the day wasn’t just about the movie. It was a perfect blend of cinema magic and local charm, marking the grand launch of the Creative Collective holiday pop-up shop. With the sun shining and temperatures in the low 50s, the atmosphere was absolutely electric. It was vibrant, festive, and packed with families ready to dive into the world of Oz.
Whether guests were stopping by before their movie showtime or unwinding afterward, the Plaza was the place to be. We saw a steady flow of happy faces throughout the afternoon, proving once again that when you mix great entertainment with community spirit, you get something truly memorable.
A Wickedly Good Time on the Plaza
From the moment the event kicked off at 11:00 AM, families were ready to engage. We saw over 1,250 onsite impressions, with around 250 attendees actively participating in the themed stations. The energy was contagious!
The main attraction? A series of immersive stations that let guests show their true colors.
Sip, Create, and Strike a Pose
We wanted every touchpoint to feel like a piece of the movie brought to life. Here’s what kept the crowd buzzing:
Cocoa Bar with a Twist: Guest services served up a Wicked-themed hot chocolate experience that was anything but ordinary. We’re talking whipped cream topped with pink and green glitter glaze and coordinating sprinkles. As one guest put it, "The hot chocolate was the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and warm us up!"

Creation Station: The DIY station was packed with teenagers and families making custom brooches and keychains. Guests could pledge their allegiance to Team Glinda or Team Elphaba with their designs. One excited teen shared, "I love the Wicked pin I made! I'm definitely wearing this to school on Monday."

Oz-Themed Photo Booth: This was a massive hit. The booth ran non-stop as friends and families grabbed props to channel their inner witches. It wasn’t just a photo op; it was a moment of connection.

Diverse Community & Commerce
While the Wicked premiere was the star of the show, the Creative Collective holiday pop-up shop was the perfect co-star. Having the pop-up right on the Plaza created a seamless flow between entertainment and shopping.
Many guests took the opportunity to visit the Creative Collective and enter the 'Text to Win' raffle. The prize—a gorgeous gift basket from the pop-up shop—was a major draw and significantly boosted participation. This synergy reinforced exactly what Fairfax Corner is known for: blending high-quality local shopping with top-tier community entertainment.
The Impact
The numbers speak for themselves, but the feeling on the ground told the real story. We saw families lingering, teenagers laughing, and a genuine sense of community. One parent mentioned, "We thought we were just seeing a movie today, but this changed the whole experience."
By creating a space where families could gather, create, and celebrate, we turned a standard movie release into a full-blown community festival. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, leaving everyone ready to kick off the holiday season on a high note.
