Spooky Season Success: Davis Ford Crossing’s Trick-or-Treat Recap

Updated: Jan 13

Fall was in full swing at Davis Ford Crossing! Last October 17, 2025, the community gathered for an unforgettable evening of costumes, candy, and creative fun at our annual Trick-or-Treat event. With the sun shining and mid-60s temperatures providing the perfect autumn backdrop, the center transformed into a festive hub for families in Manassas.

Events like these are about more than just sugar rushes; they’re about building connections between residents and local businesses. From the Jibbitz Boo-tique to the impromptu participation of enthusiastic tenants, this year’s activation proved that when you create a welcoming space, the community shows up in full force.

A Night of Frights and Delights

Kids in costumes line up outside under a white tent, holding treat buckets. Adults stand nearby. Cars and trees in the background, dusk setting.

The energy was electric from start to finish. Over 400 attendees (and 1,500 onsite impressions!) filled the plaza, eager to celebrate. DJ Reina set the tone immediately to the left of the LA Fitness entrance, spinning upbeat, family-friendly tracks that had ghosts and goblins dancing before they even hit the registration table.

The decor perfectly captured the season, with cheerful scarecrows, pumpkins, and vibrant autumn foliage enhancing the warm, orange glow of the evening sun. It wasn't just a shopping center—it was a full fall experience.

Activities That Stole the Show

We thoughtfully arranged the footprint to create a natural flow, ensuring families could enjoy every activation without feeling crowded.

The Jibbitz BOO-tique

This year's standout star was undoubtedly the Jibbitz Boo-tique. Located near the entrance, this station allowed children to customize their own silicone bracelets with a choice of four charms. It was a massive hit! Parents loved the functionality (the charms work on Crocs at home!), and kids loved the creativity.

People gather under a tent at an outdoor event, exploring colorful bracelets on a table with decorations. It's dusk, and the mood is lively.

As one parent told us, "The Jibbitz station is such a great idea, this would be amazing at a kid's party or other events, even for adults!"

Picture-Perfect Moments

Further along the path, families discovered a curated fall-themed photo op. Complete with miniature trees and seasonal props, it provided the perfect backdrop for capturing those intricate costumes on camera.

Balloons and Bling

To manage crowd flow, we strategically placed our balloon artist and glitter tattoo station at the end of the engagement pathway near the pizzeria. This gave families plenty of room to line up for their favorite designs without blocking the storefronts. The artists worked their magic until the very end of the event!

Tenant Engagement Wins

One of the biggest successes of the night was the tenant participation. While we started with a core group of pre-registered merchants—including Amazing Lash Studio, Nails Amour and Spa, and Hand & Stone Massage & Facial Spa—the excitement was contagious.

On the day of the event, several additional tenants joined the fun spontaneously! Thanks to our team's preparation (and extra candy supplies!), we were able to accommodate everyone. Participating merchants like Krispy Kreme, Arby's, and The Barber Shop & Co saw steady foot traffic and had the chance to connect with new customers in a relaxed, joyful setting.
